SAFETY PROTECTION SYSTEM (SPS)
This unique feature is part of any IDEAL »BUSINESS SHREDDER« and ensures highest safety and best functionality for the operator. “EASY_SWITCH” - that is the designer’s name for the operating element especially created for the new shredder generation to ensure maximum operating ease. By means of the sizeable switch with colour signals, backlighting and integrated illuminating symbols, the shredder is kept under perfect control. Flashing icons indicate the operational status, for example, when the photo-cell for automatic start/stop function is activated, or when the power to the motor is automatically interrupted due to an open cabinet door or a paper jam. Also, this intelligent switch indicates how to resolve operational interruptions. By incorporating an electronically controlled flap attached to the feed opening, the safety for the operator is significantly increased, and clearly exceeds the requirements of the established international safety regulations. This transparent safety element consists of a flexible component that narrows and deepens the feeding channel leading to the cutting unit, eliminating any risk of injury. If the flap is moved manually, the safety electronics instantly stop the shredder. At the same time, the intelligent control element “EASY_SWITCH” allows overloaded documents to be reversed from the feed opening easily.
Further “SPS” safety elements are: automatic reverse and power cut-off (avoids paper jams); automatic Stop if shred bag is filled; double motor protection against overheating; electronic door protection with magnetic proximity switch; plus of course, regular approval by internationally renowned safety and control institutes.
